Welcome

Nino Toradze

President

The Toradze Foundation has been established to continue the vision and passion of my father David Toradze and brother Alexander Toradze. Both were exceptional in their respective professions (as composer and pianist), but their true uniqueness concerned their dedication to helping young aspiring musicians fulfil their potential, as both musical professionals and human beings. This is the fundamental purpose of the foundation.

As daughter and sister, I was privileged to be raised in a household brimming with music, theatrics, challenge, and full of love. As a young girl, without the obvious talents of my family, I often found myself as the spectator, finally observing how raw talent is insufficient. Talent needs an inspirational environment and continued nourishment.  If the foundation can provide just a taste of this environment our establishment can be classed as a success.

From an operations perspective the foundation will identify and support Georgia’s youth with an unquenchable thirst for music – composers, instrumentalists, singers, and   conductors.  Auditions   will   be   held   throughout   the   country   and   selected individuals will be supported, financially and personally, throughout the full degree programme at the Tbilisi Conservatoire. In addition, foundation supported individuals will be encouraged to participate in the annual Toradze International Music Festival (TIMF).

The TIMF will coalesce the world’s leading artists, artist managers, event mangers   and   journalists, ensuring   foundation   participants   are   exposed   and   have access to the full workings of the music industry, and its many genres.

The Foundation has long been a goal of my family and the topic of many animated conversations with my late beloved brother. The fact the Foundation now exists is, without doubt, a dream come true and only possible due to the emotional, practical and financial support of the Foundation’s patrons, partners, participants and friends.

To all of you, I thank you with all my heart.

Sincerely,

Nino Toradze

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the inaugural Toradze International Music Festival, inspired by the legacy of my dear mentor, Alexander “Lexo” Toradze and his distinguished Georgian family, including his father the composer David Toradze.

It is a great honor to be asked to serve as the festival’s Artistic Director. What at first seemed an overwhelming challenge has now become reality due to the many artists and patrons who enthusiastically stepped forward, offering their time, talent, and financial support.

The festival’s goal, through a programme of concerts, master classes and lectures by world-renown artists and music professionals, is to inspire and catalyze young musicians, from around the world, to fulfil their potential.

Our logo (the ‘accolade’), symbolizing connection and unification, perfectly represents the core nature of Lexo & David and the unrivalled power of music in bridging perspectives and helping to forge a more peaceful world.

My heartfelt thanks to everyone supporting our festival and I hope you enjoy the program.

With best wishes,

Edisher Savitski

I am honored to extend my warmest greetings to you on behalf of the Toradze International Music Festival team.

The contributions of the Toradze family to the development of Georgian culture over the decades are invaluable. Therefore, it is a significant responsibility for us to organize an international music festival in their name.

It is worth mentioning that under the auspices of Mrs. Nino Toradze, masterclasses by renowned artists and educational programs will be conducted during the festival. These programs will include auditions for young aspiring musicians, scholarships, and opportunities to enhance the professional skills of talented musicians and performers.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia, and Georgian Chanting Foundation the co-founders of the festival, as well as Tbilisi City Hall for their invaluable support. Furthermore, I would like to acknowledge the patronage of the festival by world-class musicians, Mr. Gianandrea Noseda and Maxim Vengerov.

Finally, I would like to express our gratitude to the festival’s board of directors, partners, donors, and supporters, without whom we would not have been able to organize such a magnificent event.
